Situated on a private garden planted with giant forest trees and an indigenous kitchen garden, our time at Rimbun Dahan was spent exploring binders, resins, adhesives, and of course natural colour pigments. As our first overseas residency, we were trying out an approach to site-specific material experimentations and eventually, the development of artworks by Shirin. It was also a very special experience where we met artists all over Southeast Asia, bonding over of course, food. We have documented most of our material experiments here on a Miro board.
The artworks below were developed by Shirin during her time there, using mostly material found and processed on-site.
